service and a reasonable dealer profit; in general terms
like-for-like goods will usually realise around half the values
indicated on our pages, which is an acceptable industry standard.
Payment for goods is immediate, and we have a good working experience
of buying from members of the public. Should any material offered not
be of interest to us we endeavour to recommend an alternative method
of sale/disposal.
Appraisals/Valuations
We
are happy to give informal valuations with a view to purchase.
Written valuations may be provided for insurance or probate purposes,
for which an agreed fee will be charged.
Bookbinding
and Box-making
We
can supply custom made book-boxes made to protect your books and
dust-wrappers from sunlight and dust. Our standard box is a
fleece-lined quarter leather over cloth or marbled sides, with
traditional raised bands and lettered in gilt to the spine. Boxes may
also be made in half leather (i.e. with leather corners), full
leather, or full cloth. Many colours are available, and smooth calf
or grained morocco leather may be specified. We can also rebind books
using cloth or leather in a variety of styles. Please contact us for
