Live and Let Die (a James Bond novel). Ian Lancaster FLEMING.

Live and Let Die (a James Bond novel).

London: Jonathan Cape, 1954. FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.240. Publisher's black cloth-effect paper over boards, embossed in gilt, with purple dust-wrapper showing the original price of 10/6 to both flaps. This is the second state of the first issue, with jacket artist Kenneth Lewis' credit appearing 27mm below the final line of blurb on the front flap, about two-thirds down. Both book and jacket are well used: owner name to flyleaf, page edges toned, some spotting, wear/tear to rear joint, jacket is stained and worn, especially to the rear panel which has remnants of surface adhesive, now in a clear plastic jacket and housed in a custom leather spined clamshell case. An inexpensive entry-level copy; the most affordable copy on the market in jacket. Item #55397

Price: £2,500.00
