London: Bentley 007 / Hodder and Stoughton, 2011. [Spy thriller] LIMITED EDITION by Bentley Motors, just one of 500 copies of their 'Red' edition (A 'white' binding was also issued, in a similar style but with a chrome box in the shape of a Bentley GT). Publisher's red leather, stamped in blind, with red head and tail bands, red coloured edges and endpapers, red leather doublures and a red silk ribbon marker. No jacket was issued for this edition. The text block features a hollowed out bullet housing, with the corresponding cartridge shell engraved with the limitation number to the primer and the title of the book etched down the side of the round. A neat gimmick, typical of the lavish James Bond special editions of late. A fine, unopened copy. A James Bond adventure set in Afghanistan and Dubai, written by acclaimed thriller writer Jeffrey Deaver, who is a life-long admirer of the Bond novels and the 2004 winner of the Ian Fleming Silver Dagger Award, presented by the Crime Writers' Association.
