London: Thomson Newspapers, 1965. Newspaper magazine supplement format, colour illustrated. Pp.102. The 'Automania' issue, containing nothing but motoring content. Includes articles on race-tuner John Cooper, car-lover Peter Sellers, Grand Prix drivers Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart, and road tests of Rolls Royce, Triumph, Humber, etc. Also includes 'The Car As Hero' featuring brief extracts from motoring fiction by Ian Fleming [Live and Let Die], Georges Simenon, Nevil Shute, Dorothy L. Sayers, etc. A fragile disposable item, showing some rubs and creases to cover, tears at staples. Very good overall. The Sunday Times was the first British newspaper to include a free weekly colour supplement, the idea being heavily influenced by Ian Fleming, at that time a jewel in the newspaper's crown. He contributed to the first issue (The Living Daylights, 1962) and many times subsequently during the 1960's. Item #57428
