Sparta, IL: DC Comics, National Periodical Publications, Inc., March-April 1963. [Comic book] Published as issue 43 of the Showcase anthology series by DC Comics, with artwork by Norman Nodel. The front inside cover shows five stills from the United Artists film adaptation, and the rear inside cover prints a biography of Ian Fleming entitled 'The Man Behind the Typewriter'. Pp.32, in illustrated paper covers, stapled. Price 12 cents. Some minor wear, discreet ink-stamped UK price roundel (9s) to front. Near fine. The comic is an adaptation of the film rather than the novel, and the characters are drawn to resemble the movie actors. An important publication; this represents the only James Bond title to be issued in the traditional comic-book format during the author's lifetime. Item #58706
