James Bond novelist Ian Fleming reviewed the book for The Sunday Times under the heading 'Girl's Best Friend', at the time he was writing 'The Diamond Smugglers'. From the comprehensive Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with his pencilled note and bookplate.
