Publisher's hardback cloth in a pictorial dust-wrapper designed by Richard Chopping priced $3.95. Text block clean, recipient's newsclipping (review) loose to endpapers (once gummed in), jacket lightly worn with some tape applied to extremities. Very good. Signed copies are scarce (no others currently for sale). The author's debut novel set in Eton College. This title was reviewed upon publication by Ian Fleming, who was an Old Etonian. Unlike the British edition, a quote from Fleming's review is printed on the jacket flap. Richard Chopping, illustrator of the striking dust-jacket, was already famous for producing the memorable artwork for Ian Fleming's James Bond series. This copy is from the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil signature within). His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #67840
